It wasn’t a problem because the other restaurant was open and had a huge buffet with plenty of seating. The first night we stayed out by the beach to watch the sunset before going to dinner and both restaurants were full by the time we were ready. Those are smaller restaurants that fill up easily, so you might want to consider getting there close to 6:00 pm to get a table. Two of the restaurants, Krystal and Kyoto, have a dress code requiring men to wear long pants and no tank tops. You’re certainly not going to go hungry here! When we traveled, they had suspended room service due to covid, but under normal conditions, that’s available, too. The Riu Palace Pacifico has five restaurants, a sports bar, and a pool bar. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, a computer station, and dry cleaning/laundry services. With a stay at Riu Palace Pacifico All Inclusive in Nuevo Vallarta (Flamingos), you’ll be a 4-minute drive from Nuevo Vallarta Beach and 6 minutes from Playa Bucerias. Image Credit: Karee Blunt | Our Woven Journey I would go again just for the staff and the size of the hotel.Horseback riding is a popular activity on the beach in front of the resort. Taxis are at the front and will be hailed if you need one. I think his name was Luis who brought our bags up was a great help. Staff kept an eye on use to help and assist in any way we needed and always kept an eye on my daughter. We enjoyed all the shows but our favourite was the Michael Jackson show. The theatre is a bit hidden, it’s through the outside seating area of the buffet to your left. If you eat in there guacamole is an option, at the buffet the waiters will get you guacamole if you ask. For lunch they open an area at the Mexican restaurant and serve burgers, hot dogs, fries. The Italian restaurant was delicious the steaks were good. The buffet was good a bit above average, those with kids should be notified of the self serve ice cream, it’s available all day and a big hit. We only went to the buffet and Italian restaurant because it was impossible to get into the Mexican restaurant. There’s a great convenient store right by the billiards tables. There is a little shop on the beach, not a big variety of vendors out on the beach. The hotel was small enough that I could walk around on my crutches just needed support on the ramps. Elevators are out of the way, it is not the most accommodating for disabled travellers but that’s a tall order. The rooms are outdated and aren’t cleaned until later in the day. My daughter was fine on her own in that pool making friends. Entertainment staff was always out, the kids club went searching for iguanas every morning. Salvador is at the top of the list servicing the restaurant in the mornings then serving drinks by the pool or on the beach. I’d say the best part of this hotel is its staff. I have disabilities so we wanted to try a smaller hotel this year. So many nicer places to stay in the area. I took my mom and was embarrassed at the choice I made. It seems like they will probably tear this down and rebuild at some point. It's small so not a lot to do for activities. You have to ask for guacamole if you want it. The Mexican restaurant was some of the blandest food I've ever had. I love real Mexico and this has some of that but pretends to be something it's not. In that case you can and will have to listen to people enjoying themselves late into the night. Great if you want to go to bed early, except if you are on side next to Rui Vallarta next door. Literally the place is dead quiet by 9pm so don't expect any disco. Evening shows are not great and there is really nothing to do in the evening. Food was ok but we've had much better at other hotels including 2 stars. Lot's of long stay people who come back yearly, bring the place a wasting away in Margaritaville feeling. Easy walk to nearby Bucerias which is lovely. ![]() The boards for use are barely holding together and hard to get. We brought our own boards and were glad we did. Beach is nice and there are some small waves for boogieboarding. Had a theft from a room and security was not responsive. Musty smell so bad that we had reactions. This hotel is very old and leaks badly if it rains, including in our rooms and the main dining area.
